10 Exciting Benefits of Walking a Brisk Pace

I joined a walking group a few weeks ago, and it has been a game-changer for me.  I started walking several weeks before I joined this walking group. I was walking two to three days for an hour.  


I have to admit walking by myself I have laser focus.  But, walking with other women makes the time go faster, and I added another mile.  Most days, we complete a 4 miles walk.  


I posted about joining a walking group on IG and came across an image of the benefits of walking. That is what sparked this post.  


Most of us use walking as a way to lose or maintain our weight, but sometimes I think we don’t realize the other benefits of walking.

 First, let’s clarify what is considered a brisk walk.  You should be able to carry a conversation, but it would be more challenging to sing.  




you can walk 3 miles per hour, which is a 20-minute mile.


I currently walk a 20-minute mile.  My goal is a 15-minute mile. I want to complete a 5k in 45 minutes.


Here are the 10 benefits I found for walking a brisk pace.

According to an article in Healthline.com Health Benefits of Walking, it talks about how you can lower your risk of heart disease by 19% by walking 30 minutes 5 times per week.  You can reduce the risk even more by increasing your duration or distance of the walk.
